Brand Development in Bangladesh
Brand development is the kit after the territory: name checks, identity direction, launch film brief, the first trade story. Azizul Hoque Shiplu does not run a 20-person design studio. He directs the kit so it can be filmed. Programmes typically BDT 3,00,000–9,00,000 plus specialist design billed at cost.
New lines (Pran Potatos, BIR Cement, Astha Life) needed a kit that could survive a TVC and a dealer conference on the same week.
What "the kit" actually contains
Name and claim first, checked against what's already in market before a designer touches anything. Identity direction next — not the final artwork itself, but the brief a design house executes against, so the mark, the colour and the pack work as hard on a shelf as they do in a deck. Then the launch-film brief: what the kit needs to look like in motion, since a kit that only works as a static logo sheet fails the day it meets a camera. Last, the first trade story — the version of the kit a distributor or dealer sees, which is rarely the same document as the consumer-facing one.
Kits built for real launches
- Xtreme Aerosol (2024) — a full identity and launch kit under "মশার বিরুদ্ধে এক্সট্রিম সুরক্ষা," built to work as an animated TVC, six-newspaper print run and in-store POP at once. 14,400 TV spots across 12 channels reached 90 million viewers, alongside 1.7 million Facebook and 1.1 million YouTube views.
- Pran Potatos (2021) — entering a segment dominated by international players, the kit ran from flavour naming (Tom n Tino, Sultani Masala) through packaging to a jingle-led TVC, developed as one system rather than naming handed to one vendor and packaging to another.
- BIR Cement (2021) — Bashundhara Group's third cement brand needed a name, logo and packaging that connected instinctively with cement's own inherent qualities under the platform "Pride of the Nation," in a market already crowded with cement brand options.
- Astha Life Insurance (2020) — an intangible product with no pack or shelf presence, where the kit was almost entirely line and positioning: "আস্থায় বিশ্বাস, আস্থায় জীবন" had to carry the entire trust argument on its own, across OOH, digital and branch activation.
- Sena Cement (2017) — a complete kit built end to end for Sena Kalyan Sangstha: logo, pack design and positioning, through to full trade, ATL and BTL launch communication. It became one of the Bangladesh Army's most prominent commercial brands.
- Akij Ceramics Re-Launch (2012) — a kit-correction story rather than a first launch: after early quality and packaging problems, a new logo and full repack under "Promise of Perfection" took the brand to No.1 by sales in Bangladesh within two years.
Six kits, six different problems — a packaged FMCG product, a construction-material brand, an intangible financial service, an army-run commercial brand, and a broken identity that needed correcting rather than inventing. The common thread is direction that survives contact with a camera and a trade audience, not just a brand book.
What this is not
Not brand-territory writing — the sentence a brand can defend for years sits on Brand Strategist, upstream of this page. Not the ongoing multi-channel system once the kit exists — that's Brand Communication. Not a full design studio — specialist design execution (typography, illustration, packaging engineering) is commissioned separately at cost; this is direction of that work, not the studio doing it.
Indicative cost range

| Name / claim only | BDT 80,000–1,80,000 | When identity already exists |
