Hiring a film director in Bangladesh
"Best film director" searches from brands and agencies are a brief: who can take a sentence to a frame that will still work on Bangladeshi television and on a mute phone. Azizul Hoque Shiplu's direction fees typically BDT 1.5–6 lakh a project, or BDT 55,000–95,000 a day. Diploma, Zahir Raihan Film Institute; advertising films since the Ogilvy years; TCPAB member.
What "best" actually means for a director
Not the reel with the most polish. It means someone who reads a brief and can say, specifically, what will and won't work on the medium it's actually going to run on — a frame built for broadcast rarely survives a mute, vertical feed unchanged. It means training that goes beyond commercial work (formal screenplay, production design, post-production craft) layered onto genuine advertising experience, not one substituting for the other. And it means clear boundaries: picture is picture, not operations, not the budget, not the schedule.
How to actually compare directors
Four questions worth asking before booking anyone. Can you show a specific film and explain the one decision you made that the client didn't ask for but that made the film work? Who has final sign-off on the cut — you, or does that authority sit somewhere else entirely, unnamed? Do you also handle fixer or executive-producer duties on this job, and if so, are the budgets and decision rights actually separated in writing? And what happens if the brand's non-negotiables and your creative instinct disagree on set — is there a named process, or does it get sorted out improvised, on the day.
Where this sits among other hats
Open the TVC, OVC, documentary or corporate pages when the product is specific. Open this page when you already have a producer and need picture. Fixer work is a different hat.
