Case study · 2021 · Pran-RFL Group
Launch of Pran Potatos
Pran-RFL entered the real-potato chips segment — then held by international names — with a brand built in Bangladesh. The published result: more than 5.9 million views across Facebook and YouTube, and a new line that became one of Pran's best-selling chip brands.
Situation
The brief was not "make a snack ad". It was to launch a local real-potato chips brand that did not look like a copy of the international incumbents on the same shelf.
Role
Azizul Hoque Shiplu led brand and communication development end to end: platform, flavour identities, jingle-led television commercial, and trade POSM — developed as one system because the film and the pack had to say the same thing from day one.
Approach
Under "Simply FUNtastic," the team built playful flavour identities (Tom n Tino, Sultani Masala), a jingle-led fantasy-style TVC, and branded trade materials. Packaging, flavour naming and communications were developed together so the dealer and the child saw the same brand.
Result
Pran Potatos took shelf space quickly, became one of Pran-RFL's best-selling new chip brands, and drew more than 5.9 million views across Facebook and YouTube.
What this teaches a similar brief
A chips launch in Bangladesh is pack, jingle, trade and film in one week — not a TVC waiting for a later POSM job. Brief flavour names and the trade calendar with the script. See TVC and brand development.
